What a party…

Every so often, The Legal Genealogist turns to a marvelous little program written by John Cardinal called On This Day.

It’s no longer supported, mostly because it runs against the database of a now-defunct genealogy program called Master Genealogist. But it works perfectly for those of us who won’t give up our Master Genealogist databases to report on who was born or married or died on this day.

And I was kind of surprised when I was poking around yesterday to see that, according to the program, absolutely nothing whatsoever happened in any my family lines on any June 12th. Ever.

Not a single birth, marriage, death, burial… nothing recorded as having happened on that day.

Which sent me off looking at other things that might have happened around this time in June that could serve as blog fodder.

And I came across a quirk.

birthday

One particular family had a bunch of June babies.

I mean, a bunch of June babies.

• Margaret Etta Livingston, born 6 June 1880, in Alabama.1

• Richard Alonzo Lon Livingston, born 9 June 1883, in Alabama.2

• John Jackson Livingston, born 14 June 1885, in Alabama.3

• Leva Pyron Livingston, born 21 June 1891, in Texas.4

That wasn’t all the kids, of course — not in my family, and these are all half-siblings to my great grandmother Eula (Baird) Livingston Robertson, who was born in Alabama in October 1869.5 The oldest of the Livingston half-siblings, Lula, was born in Alabama in July 1877;6 there were two born in April — Noel in 18877 and Susie in 1889;8 and the baby, Arthur, was born in September.9

But even still… it makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

Just what a birthday party there must have been in June in the Livingston family!

And just what Martha Louise (Shew) Baird Livingston and Abijah L. Livingston were up to all those nights in September…
