FTDNA sale extended
It’s a three-day weekend, there are ancestors to be found … and The Legal Genealogist has snacks.
To say I’ve fallen down the Graumüllers-in-Rüdersdorf rabbit hole is an understatement and a half. Which kind of explains why there’s no extensive blog post today.
But for those who got up this morning vaguely apprehensive about going past the end of the summer sale at Family Tree DNA without having gotten a new kit or upgrade — especially for the YDNA (direct paternal line) and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA, direct maternal line) testing you’ve been wanting to do — there’s still time.
The sale has been extended through Tuesday, September 3rd.
Do remember, of course, to make an informed choice about matching …

Talk about rabbit holes. I bought three mtDNA kits from FTDNA (on sale!) at FGS, and now I’m tracing females lines down. Drafted a plan to test whether a woman married twice (first marriage about 1786, second about 1800) and had two families by tracing female lines down from the two sets of children. One of my brick walls and a part of a larger proof argument.
You know how we used to talk about lines “daughtering out”? I’ve still got several possibilities from each of the sisters or half-sisters. But far more spinsters and boy children than I was hoping for!!
A good Labor Day project!
The best kind of rabbit hole! Have fun.
