Fantastic conference

Wow. Just wow. You know you’ve found hard-core dedicated genealogists when, on a warm, sunny, Friday afternoon — the first warm sunny Friday afternoon of the year after a long cold winter — you find hundreds of people willing to lock themselves into windowless rooms and listen.

But that’s what happened yesterday in Fairfax, Virginia, as the 30th annual Spring Conference of the Fairfax Genealogical Society got underway at the Fairfax Marriott. The Legal Genealogist was privileged to present a set of four lectures — Private Citizens, Public Lives: Individuals through the Eyes of the Law — to a terrific group of folks in one room while other tracks were just as packed in three other lecture halls.

Today, there are even more goodies for genealogists from Virginia and further afield, plus a wide variety of vendors, plus…

What a terrific opportunity to get together with good people and learn from each other.

I’m most grateful for the very warm welcome from Fairfax and am already looking forward to coming back next year.

Thank you, Fairfax!!
