Congratulations, Gina and David!
I really shouldn’t do this — it’s Saturdays that I reserve for my family — but I can’t wait until Saturday. I am, above all else, a family historian, and so in all ways at all times my family and its history come first.
And so it is with great delight that I report that our family tree added another branch this weekend when my niece Gina married the love of her life David.
Gina had often dreamed of a fairy tale wedding and this weekend proved dreams can come true as she pulled up to the church in a horse-drawn carriage.
Emotions ran high throughout the service, which featured a gospel choir, the bride’s cousin singing a solo, another cousin playing hymns on handbells and a Lutheran pastor who made everybody laugh most of the time. Well, except for Gina …
The wedding went off without a hitch, despite the waterworks, and bride and groom even survived the gauntlet of rice throwers, most of whom followed the pastor’s directions to toss it gently up over the couple and not pitch it directly at them.
By the time bride and groom arrived at the reception, it was all smiles.
Congratulations to the newlyweds, and welcome to the family, David!
What a gorgeous couple!! And, what a wonderful event to be able to post about regardless of the day.
Aren’t they just the happiest pair you ever did see?!?
What a beautiful couple. No need to apologize for posting “off topic” for the day. Good news is too good to postpone!
Based on the glorious sunshine and blues skies seen in the pictures, whoever was in charge of the weather arrangements for the day deserves a round of applause!
Pat
And if you’d seen the downpour just a few minutes earlier and a few miles away, you’d know just how big that round of applause should be!
Great photos of a happy event. Thanks for sharing! 😉
Thanks, Bill!
Heave a sentimental sigh for that wonderful fairy tale wedding, complete with happy bride and groom, and gorgeous weather. Congratulations! The spirit of true optimism – couples getting married!
They’be had great role models for that optimism… The bride’s parents will celebrate their 43rd anniversary this year!
Absolutely Mahvalous! I love weddings and this one looks like it was simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing Judy.
It was just wonderful, Sheri. SO happy for the bride and groom!
